In the afternoon, we’ll head into the nearby mountain town of Aguas Calientes for dinner and some much-needed rest and relaxation.
We’ll start the day with a gradual hike up in elevation towards the archeological site of Llulluchapampa, above the timberline. After lunch, we’ll power up the trail to reach Warmiwañuska Pass, the summit of our hike at 14,000 ft. After celebrating our victorious arrival to the highest point on the trek, we’ll continue on down to our lunch stop. After a little break, we will continue on to the evening’s campsite at Pacaymayo, our favorite spot on the trail to stargaze and learn more about Inca “cosmovision”.
