From the Amazon to the Andes is a program we crafted to give clients the chance to explore the real essence of every different landscape of  Peru. A large part of the Amazon Jungle is located in Peru, so it’s a must-see during your trip to Peru. 

The Amazon is crawling with unique wildlife and rich traditions. The customs of every community provide you with a unique experience. Local lodges create an unforgettable experience. They serve local dishes and have activities planned that give you the chance to experience the life of a local. Every day, different activities are waiting for you! After your jungle adventure, you get to fly over the snow-capped Andes mountains and explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The tour ends with exploring the famous ruins of Machu Picchu because let’s be real, you can’t miss that while you’re in Peru.


Day 1: Welcome to Lima Peru 

Upon your arrival in Lima, you will be greeted at the airport by our Qosqo Expeditions tour guide. From the airport, your transport will be included. It’s about a 45-minute drive to downtown Lima. You will be staying at a Belmont hotel in Miraflores.

Day 2: Flight from Lima to Puerto Maldonado (Tambopata jungle adventure starts)

We are going to collect you from your hotel and head to the Lima airport to board your domestic flight to Puerto Maldonado. It is a one-hour flight into the Amazon. The city tucked away in the jungle is called Puerto Maldonado. Upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, you will be greeted by our Qosqo Expeditions staff. Our guide will drive you to downtown Puerto Maldonado where you will catch a small boat at the Capitania Port.

You will get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to ride through Amazon on the Madre de Dios river. It’s about a 45 minutes boat ride to get to the luxuries lodge that’s nestled in the heart of the Amazon. You will receive a traditional welcome drink and delicious lunch upon your arrival.  Once you get settled into your room, you will be given a short tour of the area in the afternoon. Later that evening you will get to enjoy the “nighttime tour” and see the wildlife that only comes out at night! Spiders, snakes, and caimans, oh my!!! But don’t worry, they won’t be in your comfortable room when you go to sleep!

Day 3:Tambopata Amazon Sandoval Lake 

Day three is your first full day in the jungle. You will board our wooden boat and ride along the Amazon River to find the entry to Sandoval lake. From the entrance, it’s an 8 kilometers hike to Sandoval Lake where you get to see the white otters, caymans, squirrel monkeys,  and some other wildlife animals. The Sandoval Lake is considered one of the most important lakes within the Amazon because of its incredible Ecosystem. After an unforgettable death, you will spend a relaxing day and night at the lodge.

Day 4:  Tambopata Amazon Canopy Adventure and Bird Watching

It will be an early morning but it will be worth it with all the adventurous activities awaiting you. Your first canopy tour is over 30 meters above the ground and it is linked by suspénaion bridges. While you’re among the trees you might just get to see woodpeckers and macaws. 

You will continue with your tour at the Gamitana creek which is home to so many exotic wildlife. After an active morning you will have lunch at the lodge. In the late afternoon you will go on a 30-minute wooden boat ride to the botanical gardens. These gardens are home to many species.  You will get to see some local Amozonian farms and live the experience of Hacienda Concepcion. Afterwards, you will go back to the lodge to continue enjoying more activities at your leisure. 

Day 5: Puerto Maldonado to Cusco Sacred Valley of the Incas 

On the 5th day, you will have breakfast at the lodge before you say goodbye to the Amazon. You have a 45-minute boat ride from the lodge back to Puerto Maldonado. At the airport, you will catch a flight to Cusco. Upon your arrival to the Inca city of Cusco, our team at Qosqo Expeditions will greet you at the airport, and drive you to the first stop at an alpaca farm. There you will get to use the restroom and learn more about weaving Andean textiles. Then, we will continue to the sacred Valley viewpoint where you will stop to take photos. You will drive to a  restaurant to enjoy an authentic meal cooked by the locals. After lunch, you will enjoy a late afternoon drive to the hotel and stay the night there.

Day 6 Sacred Valley Ollantaytambo Pisac market 

After your breakfast, you will get to watch the morning sunrise at the hotel. You will get to spend the day touring  the archeological site of Ollantaytambo. 

Ollantaytambo is known as a living museum fortress and iconic ceremonial center. You will continue the tour with a  drive through the Sacred Valley to the Hacienda Sara Pampa. You will have lunch at the Hacienda from the Colonial times. After lunch, you will continue to the Pisac Market. This market is truly magical. There are colorful handcrafts that you can buy as souvenirs. After some shopping, you will head back to the hotel for the remainder of the night.

Day 7:  Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu

It’s finally time to visit the famous Machu Picchu. You will be going to Machu Picchu by train.  It’s about a two hour train ride through the cloud forest. You will take the train to get a train that lasts for about  3 hours. Upon your arrival to Aguas Calientes, you will make your way to the hotel. In order to arrive at the entrance of Machu Picchu ruins, you will take a 30 minute bus ride up to the entrance at the top of the mountain. Once you arrive at the top, you will have a buffet lunch at one of the best restaurants Machu Picchu has to offer. Then our expert tour guide will give you a tour of the most famous ruins in the world. You will learn about the history and discover the magic of Machu Picchu.

Day 8: Machu Picchu to Cusco 

Early morning according to your preference entry back to Machu Picchu to explore at your leisure with photographs at the most incredible viewpoints and hiking options to the sun gate or Huayna Picchu last time to say goodbye to Machu Picchu back to Machu Picchu town lunch and time to explore at your leisure before we take the train back to Cusco, at your arrival to Cusco enjoy the hotel located in the most historical site of Cusco overnight stay.

Day 9: Cusco City Tour: Explore the capital of the ancient Incans

Enjoy the capital of the ancient Incas by exploring the Cusco. You will have a city tour with our local expert and visit the most important landmarks throughout Cusco. You will see temples and religious archeological sites and end the tour in the afternoon with lunch. In the evening you will be able to walk around the center ( downtown) area at your leisure.

Day 10:  Cusco to Lima

On the 10th day, your tour will come to an end and we will have to say “ hasta luego” or see you later! to Cusco . You will head to the airport for your flight to Lima. From Lima, you will connect to the airline that will take you back to your country home.
