Itinerary

DAY 01: Arrive to Cusco for the Afternon City Tour

Upon your arrival we will pick you up from the airport and drive downtown to the Cusco hotel. At 1:00pm, after you get settled in, we will pick you up at the hotel and start the city tour of Cusco. As we walk downtown Cusco, we will explore Qorikancha sun temple, the Basilica Cathedral. Following the tour of downtown we will drive 6 kilometers to the greatest Inka walls fortress of Sacsayhuman and the Mortuary Q’enqo cave. After about 4 hours of exploring we will head back to the hotel for the night.

DAY 2: Cusco to Rainbow Mountain

We will get an early start in the morning and drive 3 hours south of Cusco to the colorful Rainbow Mountain where we will hike to 5200 meters (17000 feet) with the option of horseback riding. We will stop for a lunch buffet in the town of Cusipata. In the afternoon after lunch we will begin the 3-hour drive to Sacred Valley to check in to the hotel.

DAY 3: Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu Town

At 8:00am we will pick you up from the hotel and start our day by going into the heart of the Sacred Valley to the Maras Salt Ponds and the Town of Maras which was the first colonial town in South America. After spending some time in Maras we will continue on to Moray where you will see the impressive agriculture terraces and learn about the history and traditions.

We will stop for a buffet lunch near the Urubamba river. After lunch we will drive to the outstanding archeological site the Ollantaytambo Frotress. After exploring we will head to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train at 3:00pm for a 2-hour ride to Machu Picchu town. There we will check in to the hotel for the night.

DAY 4: Machu Picchu to Cusco

We will start the 30- minute drive to Machu Picchu early in the morning to explore the ancient lost city of the Incas. There you will have the option of a 3- hour guided tour of the Sun Gate, Inca Bridge, or to continue exploring the main city of the Incas. In the afternoon we will head back to Machu Picchu town to have lunch at a recommended restaurant before we board the train to head back to the Ollantaytambo station to go back to the hotel for the night.

DAY 5: Transfer Out to the Airport

According to your flight schedule we will transfer you to the airport.
