WHY WHITE WATER RAFTING APURIMAC RIVER 3 DAYS

The Apurimac (God that speaks) River is a true wilderness rafting experience. It is in the middle of a deep canyon with beautiful rock formations, flora and fauna, some of the biggest rapids rafted in Peru.

This stunning 77-mile section of the Apurimac River merges with other rivers flowing directly to the Amazon making it the longest river in the world. We put-in at 6,561 feet. It takes us about two hours to prepare all the equipment using only state of the art self-bailing rafts and catarafts.

We´ll have lunch and raft down to our first camp. All the meals are prepared by our staff on a campfire under the night sky of the Southern Hemisphere.

At one point we arrive to a narrow canyon with an impossible rapid where we have to portage for about 900 feet. Most of the time we will be rafting class III+ and IV rapids, but we also have a few class IV+ and V rapids. Among the wildlife in this remote and isolated canyon we could find river otters, bob cats, foxes, torrent ducks, cormorants etc.

The Class V Apurimac rafting trip is an intermediate whitewater river featuring big drops, tons of action and intricate maneuvers. This is an ideal rafting trip for adventurous first timers as well as those who have rafted other rivers before and want even more action, seclusion and beauty. There is a minimum age of 14 and the trip requires all participants to paddle.

With a professional guide steering your raft, you will have an extraordinary expedition of whitewater rafting on this world-class river. Between the big drops and fun rapids there are long calm pools where you will get to take in the sheer beauty of the 9,000 foot deep wilderness canyon that you’re rafting through.

We offer 2 different Apurimac River rafting experiences, ranging from 3 days to 6 days.
