Lima Day Tour. Explore Lima from a pre-Colombian, colonial, and modern-day perspective.
We’ll begin our exploration of Lima with a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca construction dating back to 500 BC. After that view we’ll head towards the historic heart of the city. Our easy-paced walk will take us to colonial highlights such as: the Paseo de la Republica (Promenade of the Republic), San Martin Square and the Plaza Mayor (Main Square), the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Basilica Cathedral and the Municipal Palace.
We then will continue to the Convent of San Francisco, a colonial structure which still guards Lima’s most valuable treasures from the Spanish era, including subterranean catacombs. Afterwards, we’ll make our way to the modern, glamorous district of San Isidro where we’ll visit its famous orange groves. To wind down our tour in style, we’ll say our goodbyes at the Larcomar shopping center in Miraflores, nestled into the cliffs and with spectacular views of Lima’s rugged coastline.
To understand Lima, we must understand the area’s major civilizations of the past which helped shaped the bustling metropolis we see today. From ancient pre-Inca constructions to majestic colonial structures and the dazzling lights of the city’s most modern districts, Lima has many stories waiting to be told.
